We’re looking for someone to help promote our special events, such as our annual Run for the Ocean 5K and Cruise for a Clean Ocean, beach cleanups and presentations, and work with us on program development.
We are looking for volunteers to assist with the planning and preparation of events, openings and symposiums at Discover Portsmouth. We have several parties and events already scheduled.
Gallery docents are a unique and important part of Discover Portsmouth helping to make each visitor’s experience to our visitor’s center and museum special. Docents proactively welcome visitors and provide information about Discover Portsmouth. These volunteers have an in depth knowledge of Discover Portsmouth’s current exhibit and are able to answer visitors’ questions.
These volunteers play a vital role in welcoming our visitors and providing the necessary information to make each visitor’s experience enriching. You will need to have a deep familiarity with cultural Portsmouth including the arts, theaters, historic houses and local history.
Help assist with facility and operations projects at Discover Portsmouth and the John Paul Jones house. To include: painting, yard work, minor repairs, light carpentry work and general upkeep. These positions are project based and very rewarding!
Adult volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and successfully pass a background check. You can spend a morning or afternoon in the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire with visitors, help out in our offices, or assist with special events.
Students 14 years old or older are welcome to volunteer or intern with the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. Roles include working with visitors and helping with community events. We can also work with you to create a project that meets the requirements of a work study or community service program at your school.
Volunteers are extremely valuable to our programs and we want your experience with us to be beneficial to you as well as to our agency. As a volunteer, you may want to help in one or more of these ways: general help and support for the teacher, read stories, help with activities, sing songs, role…
The volunteers of Strawbery Banke Museum give their time and talents to support the following activities: children’s programs, curatorial, education, archiving, horticulture, greeting, museum store, special events, traditional crafts, and archaeology.
Help out by volunteering in the office, the daycare or classrooms.
