Education Volunteers serve both onsite and throughout the Greater Boston Community by teaching the general public about marine science. Volunteers answer questions from the public, aid in programs, demonstrate appropriate animal handling at our touch tanks, and assist with general administrative projects.

Museum Operations and Conservation & Research Volunteers are involved in a variety of tasking including everything from designing written communications, special events, technology, database administration, and general administrative support. These positions are often more flexible regarding scheduling, which allows volunteers to work half days or shifting days each week.

We have a limited number positions available on our Junior Staff team. These youth serve as volunteers at our organization on a weekly basis throughout the year working in our program areas.

Volunteers help our members in a variety of different program areas such as tutoring, music, athletics, and more. We also have skill-based administrative volunteer positions available for individuals with backgrounds in project management, finance, development, etc. A background check is mandatory.

East End House brings fresh produce and canned foods, as well as entertainment, to low-income housing complexes for seniors and people with disabilities. Volunteers will assist in all aspects of the Farmer’s Market, including transporting food, loading and unloading, set-up, bagging and handing out food, break-down and clean-up.

The School Age Program serves children kindergarten through fifth grade from many of the Cambridge Public Schools. Assist group leaders with activities, tutor, help with homework and literacy, or run special workshops on STEM, art, computers, and more.
