Monday to Friday you can assist students with homework and organizational skills.

Artists, former art teachers, those who enjoy crafts and people who are willing to help in the classroom, come lead a club or just lend an extra set of hands during our busy days.

If you are willing to share a fun learning experience with others and also possess a willingness to guide a group of 4-10 girls, setting up a “club” is for you! Chess, writing, yoga, guitar, simple cooking, stained glass, language, dance, video, tech… Clubs meet Fridays at 3-4 PM.

OSS encourages volunteers who were teachers or curriculum specialists to consider becoming a mentor to a member of the faculty. OSS is fortunate to have professional teachers and AmeriCorps Volunteer Teachers; each staff member seeks to grow and be the best at their occupation. Support new AmeriCorps teachers; inspire professional teachers; help create lessons; grade…

Teach and inspire young artists to play the recorder, guitar, keyboard, violin, a wind instrument or drums OR any other instrument you are familiar with. Friday mornings from 8:40 to 9:40AM.

Help us stay fit, practice teamwork, learn strategies and new skills. Come be an assistant coach in our fitness classes or run a club based on sports.

If your career was in business, marketing, fundraising, perhaps you would like to lend your expertise to raise awareness of OSS in the community, facilitate community partnerships, write an article about OSS for publicity, write grants for the school, or assist with the school’s magazine.

The girls will focus on your messages as their Morning Speaker. Be ready for observations, questions, and shooting stars of approval. Dozens of South Coast (even West Coast!!) friends have spoken with our girls over the years. Know that OSS believes our friends can inspire the girls to think big, act responsibly and achieve greatness…

We need volunteers who like to organize, catalog, cull, curate, make displays, guide girls in choosing books, and might want to secure further library donations.

Volunteering in the Front Office will make our days go smoothly! Phones ring, visitors check in, students and families come to the Front Office first! Be the smiling face to extend a welcome greeting to each person or field phone calls and take messages as the busy school days unfold.
