A range of administrative projects arise for which we need additional hands including mailings for families, newsletter distribution, and organizing portfolios of student work to share with interested visitors and supporters. Some projects can be done off-site.

Academic Mentors (AMs) support students who need additional assistance with classwork and homework throughout the school year while providing mentorship to students by offering guidance around non-cognitive skills such as study skills, organization, and self-advocacy. Event volunteers assist in a variety of ways from planning an event, setting up for an event and other day of tasks, hosting a information session to introduce people to Breakthrough, or help provide meals for teachers and students.

For those with professional-level skills to share, we always need assistance with web design, photography, videography, graphic design and printing.

Interested in taking on more of a leadership role? Team Leaders coach teams of Corps members, plan and implement Jumpstart sessions, and facilitate meetings. The team leader plays a variety of roles, including coach, trainer and observer and is essential to making Jumpstart a high quality program.
