In order for our annual American Independence Festival to be successful, we need the help of more than 100 individual volunteers in the days leading up to the event and on the Festival day itself. Commit to 4 hours at the event, or help plan the event this winter and spring!

Volunteer and help with greeting visitors, and selling admission tickets, memberships, and merchandise. This job includes operating a cash register and credit card machine. Between visitors help keep the shop stocked and tidy.

Volunteer with children living in shelters on a regular basis. Playspace not only gives children time to play; it also gives their parents time to take classes, pursue permanent housing opportunities, or just enjoy a needed break.

The Professional and Leaders Advocating for Youth (P.L.A.Y.) Network is a diverse group of professionals dedicated to making a real difference in our local communities as representatives of Horizons. Through fundraising, advocating, and relationship-building, we increase awareness and create opportunities to help homeless children and families.

As a tutor, you’ll dedicate an afternoon (or two) each week, Monday-Thursday from 4-6 pm. We welcome both high school and college tutors. Additionally, we need teachers for our Enrichment Program.
